Offener Brief der Filmakademie, EFA und Berlinale zur Inhaftierung von Taraneh Alidoosti
Die international erfolgreiche Schauspielerin Taraneh Alidoosti wurde im Iran festgenommen. Sie hatte sich in den vergangenen Monaten mehrfach mit der Protestbewegung solidarisiert. Ihr werde nun vorgeworfen, Unwahrheiten über die landesweiten Proteste verbreitet zu haben. Darauf steht meist eine langjährige Haftstrafe.
Zu Taraneh Alidoosti bekanntesten Filmen gehören unter anderem „The Salesman“ (Cannes 2016) sowie „Alles über Elly“ (Berlinale 2009), beide unter der Regie des zweifachen Oscar-Gewinners Asghar Farhadi.
Die Deutsche Filmakademie hat sich mit der European Film Academy, der Berlinale und den Festivals in Rotterdam und Amsterdam zusammengetan und einen gemeinsamen offenen Brief an den iranischen Botschafter unterzeichnet.

Release Taraneh Alidoosti!
The International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk and its founding institutions, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and European Film Academy, together with the German Film Academy and the Berlin International Film Festival, protest vehemently against the arrest of Iranian actress Taraneh Alidoosti and demand her immediate and unconditional release.
Having repeatedly shown her solidarity with the protests in Iran, the famous actress was arrested for “failing to provide proof for some of her statements”.
We declare our full and heartfelt solidarity with all those in Iran who stand up for their basic human rights and the freedom of expression and call on the Iranian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Taraneh Alidoosti and her colleagues. We encourage all film and culture institutions around the world to do the same.
