Martina Bleis

Martina Bleis ist Expertin für Koproduktionen und internationale Koproduktionsmärkte, Projektpräsentation, Pitching und Entwicklung. Sie ist eines der ersten Teammitglieder und seit 2016 Leiterin des Berlinale Co-Production Market. Neben der Leitung der Veranstaltung ist sie für die offizielle Projektauswahl von Spielfilmprojekten und die Co-Pro-Serienauswahl von Dramaserienprojekten verantwortlich. Insgesamt ist sie seit 2001 für die Internationalen Filmfestspiele Berlin tätig. Darüber hinaus ist sie als kuratorische Beraterin und Mentorin bei internationalen Trainings- und Koproduktionsinitiativen tätig – insbesondere für aufstrebende Produzent:innen und Regisseur:innen, die Spielfilmprojekte entwickeln.

Jury-Statement

It has been an honour to participate as a jury representative for this great initiative. I have been familiar with many great Ukrainian projects from the past years, nevertheless I was truly impressed by the abundance, the diversity and by the very strong quality of the submitted projects, and not least, by the resilience of the filmmaking community, willing to bring strong Ukrainian content to life and to the world, despite the incredibly harsh conditions of creation during the war. (I only wish we were able to support all filmmakers in this endeavour, as the need for support is evident in each and every case.)
