My motivation for my project “It’s not a full picture“

Our lives will not be the same – there is „before“ and „after“ full scale invasion in Ukraine. From the first days of war filmmaking community was active in resisting Russian aggression with the means we had. Accepting the fact that our „best people“ have to give up their film sets, acting, writing and take firearms in their hands was very difficult, but made me feel also proud of them and to capture their (actually ours) motivation and the process of dealing with such a tragedy. Being actively supporting filmmakers with the help of international colleagues with ammunition, film equipment, ifaks, medications etc. I saw how determined we all are and that despite of the devastating reality there is a space for creativity and humor. Together with Maryna Stepanska we don’t want to loose this generation of filmmakers and for some as well as for ourselves it might be also a motivation to stay in profession after the war is over.
