My motivation for my project “The Tragedy”
Pavlo Ostrikov is a prominent and talented Ukrainian director with a unique sense of humor. We are working now on his first feature film – the sci-fi love story “U Are the Universe”. We are still in the production stage as we were interrupted by war, and we still have to shoot for four shooting days somewhere in Europe. Pavlo has his own very special angle of view on his heroes, the usual “small human-being”, which have common, simple wishes and dreams. It makes his stories so recognizable but deep from another hand, as he tries to see in every single person something unique. I feel the great potential in this story, in the willingness of the man to get back his beloved wife, who died. Pavlo builds this fantasy world as a regular, boring world around us. And this approach – to tell fantastic stories thru our day-by-day routine – make Pavlo’s works so original and fresh.
